TEACH KAZAKHSTAN - jobs commence in late August 2015

Music Teacher - International School in Oman


Our client is a K-12 school,  based in Muscat, Oman. The school adopts an international curriculum with English as the medium of instruction. Staff come from different cultural and educational backgrounds: the Middle East, Europe, Asia and from English speaking western culture countries such as New Zealand, UK, Ireland, USA, South Africa and Canada. Students are mostly Arabic speaking Omanis. The school is a fee-paying private school that attracts families from the elite of Muscat society. You will be responsible for teaching playing the recorder using English as a medium of instruction to primary and middle school students whose first language is not English. The position will entail leading school music clubs and events. Teacher duties include preparation, attending professional development, attending meetings, participating in school activities and trips that may occur within or outside school hours.

Minumum Requirements:
  • Good command of English is necessary
  • Recognized Bachelor of Education (with Music endorsement for flute or recorder) with 3 years of classroom teaching experience
  • Or Bachelor of Music with 4 years of teaching experience
  • Able to start immediately or ASAP from 26 November 2014

The employment package includes:

Executive Principal - Thailand


This is an exciting opportunity to be foundation principal of a new international school in Thailand. Our clients will open in August from KG 1 to grade 3; with plans to expand to a Grade 12 inclusive school in subsequent years. The Executive Principal will work closely with the Thai Principal and together with the Directors and the Business Manager will make up the (LMT) Leadership and Management Team

Minumum Requirements:
  • Must have at least a Bachelors (or equivalent degree) in Primary teaching - a Masters in Educational management would be ideal
  • Must be available to start before Easter 2015
  • Must have significant primary school senior management experience
  • Must be culturally sensitive and be able to meet the educational aspirations of the school's wider community
  • Ideally (but not essentially) would have had experience in a similar start-up role in an overseas school
  • Must have a positive 'durable' personality with loads of the energy required for this demanding role
  • Must have a good work ethic, with proven ability to lead a developing team
  • A good sense of humour is essential

Candidate requirements - Our client is seeking a young, single, New Zealand-born, New Zealand-trained, humanities teacher  to provide private tuition for a 10 year old Turkish boy. An interest and involvement in sports is essential and you will possess a Bachelors Degree (English major preferred) and formal Teaching qualification. You should have at least two years fulltime NZ secondary school experience and applicants with significant private school backgrounds will be preferred.  You will be well-mannered, warm and empathetic yet you will have high academic standards and expectations. Highly literate, professional and well organised, you must be able to provide systematic teaching methods and possess the creativity to give your charge confidence and a world vision.
 
Remuneration – Up to NZ$80,000/year for the right candidate. Tax free if non NZ resident for 12 months (see IRD for conditions)
